The importance of words

Languages have lots of words that can have slighlty different meanings and convey very different scenarios. Differences are very imoprtant both in languages and in life, they are what makes you different form me, or her, or him. Difference is richness. That's why it's important to take care of languages lest some words be forgotten and then disappear. If our languages (English, Italian or whatever) become poorer and poorer, their societies will follow them down the hill.
Languages are alive, of course, and always changing, but some words are really forgotten and replaced by more generic ones. When you listen to some Italian speaking, you can notice that words like thing and do are used instead of more precise names or verbs. Our vocabulary has become smaller and smaller, and this is one of the signs that show the decline of our time.

poorer and poorer/ smaller and smaller = formula per dire sempre più (povero/piccolo). Con aggetivi polisillabi si usa la seguente struttura: more and more imoprtant.

Le lingue hanno molte parole che hanno significati leggermente diversi ed esprimono contesti molto diversi. Le differenze sono molto importanti sia nelle lingue che nella vita, sono ciò che vi rende diversi da me, da lei, o lui. Le differenze sono una ricchezza. Ecco perché è importante prendersi cura delle lingue perché certe parole non vengano dimenticate e scompaiono. Se le nostre lingue (inglese, italiano o altro) diventano sempre più povere, le loro società le seguiranno giù per il declivio. Le lingue sono vive, naturalmente, e in continuo mutamento, ma alcune parole sono veramente dimenticate e sostituite da vocaboli più generici. Se ascoltate qualche italiano che parla, noterete che parole come cosa e fare sono usate al posto di nomi o verbi più precisi. Il nostro vocabolario diventa sempre più misero, e questo è uno dei segni che mostrano il declino del nostro tempo.
