Yellow Submarine

Do you remember the song Yellow Submarine, by the Beatles? Of course you do! "We all live in a yellow submarine"... "sky of blue and sea of green" but we live in the submarine, anyway. I think it was a poetic way to say we all live in a cage, and if it was true in the Sixties, it is even truer today. This morning I arrived at the office by car, not by train as usual, and I think it's an even sadder situation, because when you're stuck in a queue you're sorrounded by cars, you're aware that you're breathing bad air and there's no way out. You are really and truly stuck in there. So, my idea for today is to set us all free from our cage
and do something that makes us feel free. It could be a walk in the sun at lunch time, ten minutes breathing slowly with closed eyes, a coffe with friends in your favourite café or anything.

Vi ricordate la canzone Yellow Submarine dei Beatles? Certo che sì! "We all live in a yellow submarine" ... "sky of  blue and sea of green" ma comunque viviamo in un sottomarino. Credo che fosse un modo poetico di dire che viviamo tutti in una gabbia, e se era vero negli anni Sessanta, lo è ancora di più oggi. Questa mattina sono arrivata in uffico in macchina, non in treno come al solito, e credo sia una situazione ancora più triste, perché quando sei bloccato nel traffico, sei circondato da macchine, sei consapevole che l'aria che respiri è pessima e non c'è via d'uscita. Sei davvero bloccato lì. Quindi, la mia idea per oggi è di liberarci tutti dalla nostra gabbia e fare qualcosa che ci faccia sentire liberi. Potrebbe essere una passeggiata sotto il sole in pausa pranzo, dieci minuti passati a respirare lentamente e a occhi chiusi, un caffè con degli amici nel bar preferito o qualsiasi altra cosa.
